Cookie Policy
Last updated: 1 May 2026
Template — not legal advice. These policies are a starting point modelled on what comparable UK activist tools publish. Have a solicitor review before you go live, especially if you handle data on behalf of organisations larger than you can personally vouch for.
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Campaign Mailer uses as few as possible.
What we set
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
cm_session | Keeps you signed in to the admin / account pages. Set only after you log in. | 7 days | Strictly necessary |
cm_mfa | Short-lived signed token used between the password step and the two-factor step on login. | 5 minutes | Strictly necessary |
What organisations may add
A campaign organiser can plug their own Google Analytics 4 measurement ID into their organisation. When they do, GA4 sets these cookies on their public campaign pages:
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes unique users. | 2 years | Analytics |
_ga_* | GA4 session identifier. | 2 years | Analytics |
We don't use Google Analytics ourselves. If a campaign you visit doesn't embed GA4 you won't see those cookies.
What we DON'T set
- No advertising cookies.
- No cross-site tracking cookies.
- No social-media share-button cookies (the share buttons are plain links).
Disabling cookies
You can clear cookies in your browser settings, but if you clear cm_session while signed in you'll be signed out.
